Job summary

Sun Health Corporation, located at Grandview Terrace in Sun City West, AZ, seeks a Part-Time Registered Nurse to join a compassionate team. The RN will support resident care, coordinate with dietary and therapy services, and ensure accurate medication administration and documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing (required).
• Currently licensed in the State of Arizona (required).
• Possess current or ability to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (required).

Responsibilities

• Assigns and directs the work of CNAs on assigned shifts and assists with annual performance evaluations.
• Discipline responsibility for CNAs; may suspend or send home staff as indicated.
• Record-keeping and execution of physicians' orders in a timely manner; notify physicians and family of changes in resident condition.
• Coordinate resident care with dietary, diagnostic, or therapeutic services.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered; monitor for adverse reactions and follow up.
• Maintain unit records and chart documentation per facility policy.
• Assist in orientation of new employees and contribute to performance evaluations.
• Arrange and document resident discharge/transfer paperwork; ensure proper processes.
• Acting Administrator in absence of Administrator and DON; update and participate in Care Plans.
• Demonstrate Sun Health Mission and Values.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assigns and directs the work of Certified Nursing Assistants on their respective shifts and assists with the annual performance evaluation of nursing personnel.
• Has the responsibility and authority of discipline of Certified Nursing Assistants.
• In cases of severe disciplinary problems, may suspend or send home an employee if so indicated. Records and is responsible for carrying out physicians' orders in a timely manner.
• Responsible to organize evaluation of resident condition. Notifies physicians, Director of Nursing Services, and family member of any changes in condition.
• Coordinates residents care with Dietary and/or any diagnostic or therapeutic services.
• Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician; and evaluates the effectiveness of such. Aware of and watching for adverse reactions and give the proper follow-up.
• Maintains unit records in accordance with facility policy. This includes, but is not limited to, documentation in charts, maintenance of drugs (controlled and uncontrolled).
• In some instances will assist in orientation of new employees and be responsible for input in the evaluation of the new employee.
• In the event of resident discharge or transfer, make necessary arrangements and is responsible that appropriate paperwork is done.
• Charge Nurse becomes the Acting Administrator in the absence of the Administrator and the Director of Nursing Services.
• Updates and participates in Resident Care Plans.

Your Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing. (required)
• Currently licensed in the State of Arizona. (required)
