Job summary

Newfane Rehab & Health Care Center is actively seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to lead and deliver high-quality care for residents in a comprehensive setting that blends acute, long-term, and rehabilitation services.

The RN will supervise CNAs, administer medications, and ensure adherence to individualized care plans while maintaining safety and documentation standards. Ideal candidates have strong communication, leadership, and empathetic bedside manner.

Qualifications

• RN license in New York required.
• Experience in geriatric or long-term care preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments following physician orders and the five rights.
• Supervise, direct, and support CNAs in daily duties.
• Monitor resident conditions and report changes to Unit Manager or Nurse Supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with individualized care plans for each resident.
• Handle controlled substances and maintain medication storage records.
• Accurately chart in Nursing Notes, MARs, Treatment Records, and Care Plans.

Your Role as an RN:

As an RN at Newfane Rehab & Health Care Center, you'll take the lead in delivering top-tier care while supporting and guiding a fully staffed team of CNAs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians using the "five rights" system
• Supervise, direct, and support CNAs in their daily duties
• Monitor and report any changes in resident conditions to the Unit Manager or Nurse Supervisor
• Ensure compliance with residents' individualized care plans
• Handle and document all aspects of controlled substances and medication storage
• Accurately chart in Nursing Notes, MARs, Treatment Records, and Care Plans

What We're Looking For:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
• Experience in geriatric or long-term care settings preferred
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Empathetic, professional, and team-oriented mindset
• Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment
