Responsibilities

This Regional Float position supports our PCU departments. The Registered Nurse (RN), within their scope of practice, assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a designated group of healthcare consumers across the continuum. Provides services that encompass spiritual, physiological, social, and psychological aspects of care, disease prevention, or health conservation. The position contributes to the mission and core values of CHI Health. Floats to different campuses based on need.

• Follow the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, evaluate. This ongoing process can end at any stage.
• Assessment involves systematically collecting and analyzing healthcare consumer data, including psychological, physiological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors.
• Provide care for patients upon admission to hospitals.
• Administer medications accurately and safely.
• Document all patient treatments thoroughly and accurately.
• Follow physician orders diligently.
• Have fun!

Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in Nebraska, Iowa, or nurse licensure compact.
• Basic life support certification required upon hire.
• ACLS certification required within 5 months of hire.
• Additional credentials may be necessary depending on the level of care required for RN floats.
• Ability to travel to multiple facilities on short notice.
• Two years of experience preferred.
