Cleveland Clinic's Hillcrest Hospital is seeking an AMET RN to respond to codes and rapid responses, delivering critical care at the bedside in AMET and ICU units.

This role includes a day/night schedule (7:00am–7:30pm or 7:00pm–7:30am) with every other weekend and holiday requirements, delivering direct patient care, education, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state RN licensure is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year acute care RN experience; military RN experience considered.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred/up to hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care on AMET and in ICUs.
  • Implement, monitor, and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions and vital signs.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Assist with physician and nursing orders.
  • Coordinate patient discharge needs and education for patients and families.

Hillcrest Hospital’s Adult Medical Emergency Team (AMET) responds to codes and rapid responses, providing urgent care to patients at risk of clinical deterioration. The AMET team performs critical interventions including CPR, intubation, defibrillation, and emergency medication administration. All nurses hired into the AMET role work both on the AMET and in a clinical capacity within the Intensive Care Units (ICUs), and they also participate in education and quality improvement initiatives. The AMET RN delivers early intervention during potential life‑threatening events, bringing critical care expertise directly to the bedside to improve patient outcomes. As an RN on this team, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient journey, interacting directly with patients and families to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed.

A caregiver in this position works a day/night rotation from 7:00am to 7:30pm or 7:00pm to 7:30am. Requirements include every other weekend and holiday.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $35.50

Maximum hourly: $55.60
