Job summary

Dignity Health - Dominican Hospital, a nonprofit acute care facility in Santa Cruz, CA, seeks a Quality Improvement Manager to lead the facility's quality and risk management programs. You will oversee quality initiatives, monitor performance, and drive improvements to patient safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong analytical and leadership skills, experience in healthcare quality, risk management, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or five years of related job or industry experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of three years of progressive management responsibility in an acute care setting.
• Experience managing a quality improvement program including methodology and data analysis.
• Minimum of three years of risk management, patient safety or related experience.
• Experience developing and implementing clinical, service and operational process improvements.
• Minimum of two years of clinical, patient care experience or equivalent.
• Supervisory/management experience.
• RN: CA license on hire or soon after.
• Certification in Healthcare Quality or related within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Oversee quality initiatives, monitor performance and drive continuous improvement for patient safety.
• Manage risk identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate performance improvement activities with hospital departments and committees.
• Prepare and present patient safety reports to leadership and board.
