Job summary
NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities is seeking an RN2 Community nursing subject matter expert to support five counties. You will liaise between district state operations and Quality Improvement, train staff, review medical charts, and lead site visits to uphold nursing standards and ensure safety.
The role requires NYS RN licensure, post-licensure clinical experience including direct services to individuals with developmental disabilities or related conditions, and willingness
Qualifications
- Must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
- Two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
- One year of this experience must have provided direct services to individuals with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting.
Responsibilities
- Complete medical charts and site reviews at residential day habilitation sites.
- Complete EHR review of individual medical charts.
- Serve as a nursing SME and provide training, technical assistance, site visits and audits to residential staff.
- Ensure DQI survey readiness and assist with program monitoring and evaluation.
- Review exit conferences and develop nursing-related POCAs with state operations teams.
- Participate in Nursing Standards of Practice and Health Service work groups to develop SOPs.
- Review incidents/investigations as assigned.
- Serve on Incident Review, Medication Certification Task Force, and Mortality Review committees.
