Job Summary
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through the Wellstar Shared Governance Model. The practice framework is guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, evidence-based practice, and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Wellstar Values.

Facility: Cobb Hospital

The RN Clinical Nurse is expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, implementing the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards by the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, they uphold the voice of the patient, system policies, and procedures, supporting service excellence goals.

• Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence-based practice, analytical/critical thinking, and individualized care, coordinating through effective partnerships.
• Provides relationship-based, patient-centered care tailored to population-specific characteristics, including cultural diversity.
• Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods (e.g., bedside report, rounds, patient teaching), focusing on patient goals.
• Practices according to current clinical standards.

• Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe, quality care promoting a professional care delivery model, including interdisciplinary communication and respectful environment.
• Demonstrates teamwork by practicing responsibly and promoting staff recruitment and retention.

Professional Development and Initiative

• Completes all competency assessments, mandatory education, and population-specific training.
• Serves as preceptor or mentor to ensure a qualified workforce and healthy work environment.

• Adheres to policies, procedures, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including TJC Patient Safety Goals.

Minimum Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Nursing (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
