Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse specialized in psychiatry for a 13-week assignment in Council Bluffs, IA. Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric nursing care with a 1:6 to 1:7 patient ratio

• Follow unit policies including holiday on-call requirements

Description:The position is for a registered nurse specializing in a psychiatric unit.This unit serves a range of patients with diverse behavioral health diagnoses.Common diagnoses include schizophrenia, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and depression, as well as suicidal ideation.The nurse will be expected to manage a patient ratio of 1:6 or 1:7 based on staffing levels.Every other weekend, shifts are from 6:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.Nurses are expected to round every two hours and assist with patient care when short-staffed.There are nurse aides on the unit, contributing to the care.The unit has a total of 36 beds, with sections for adults and children.Nurses may be required to manage patients from both adult and children's sections.The position includes holiday requirements and occasional on-call situations.Fingernail policy prohibits artificial nails in patient care areas.The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment.Charting is conducted using an electronic medical record system.
