Job summary

Phaxis - Support Services seeks an experienced registered nurse for a specialized 16-bed inpatient psychiatric facility focused on adult behavioral health and crisis stabilization. Per diem shifts available with a monthly schedule and as-needed basis.

Shifts are 7a–7p and 7p–7a. Requires at least 1 year in psychiatric nursing and graduation from a state-accredited nursing program. Pay rates are $45/hour on weekdays and $46/hour on weekends.

Shifts: 7a-7p & 7p-7a

Ideal candidate will have Medical Surgical and or Psych experience.

Job Duties

• Provides medication administration, physical health assessment/ screening, communicates with MD/ NP/PA for orders, obtains samples, may provide individual, group and family education related to medications or physical health processes and subsequent paperwork.
• Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, case support activities.
• Provides crisis intervention consultation to all members of the team.
• Participates in peer review process

Special Attributes: Strong psychosocial, clinical assessment skills. Position requires minimal supervision regarding use of time, able to prioritize work assignments. Must possess ability to communicate effectively with professions and clients/families and have ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.

Education and/or Experience: Graduation from a state accredited school of nursing and one year of experience in psychiatric nursing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, effective treatment notes and related documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and/or the public.

Pay Rate on Weekdays: $45 an hour

Pay Rate on Weekends: $46 an hour
