You will perform patient assessments, administer medications, monitor telemetry, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in New York State.
• Minimum 2 years medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Psychiatric nursing experience required.
• Telemetry experience required.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult medical/surgical patients with psychiatric and behavioral co-morbidities.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and telemetry monitoring.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies.
• Respond to patient needs and emergencies promptly and effectively.
• Participate in continuous education and obtain dual-certification in medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing after eligibility.
• Support unit operations including charge nurse duties as needed.

Dual-certification in medical/surgical and psychiatric nursing is available after meeting experience requirements. A minimum of two years of medical/surgical experience and psychiatric experience is required.

Special Considerations:

• Work includes weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge nurse duties as needed.
• Must be willing to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
• Compliance with TB skin test requirements.
• Candidates must live within 50 miles or be able to commute accordingly.

Scheduling:

• Straight night shifts.
• Shift assignments may include weekends and holidays.
• Hours and schedule determined by unit needs.
