Job summary

Medasource is seeking an experienced registered nurse for HCA Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Missouri. The role involves 48 hours per week with a weekend rotation as part of a per diem or rotating schedule.

You will work within the Progressive Care Unit, handling line placements and critical care duties, under a Level 2 trauma and accredited facility. Required BLS and ACLS certifications, advanced assessment and critical thinking, and experience managing vasoactive drips.

General Information

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:3 AM, 1:4 AM or 1:4 PM, 1:5PM (with patient care techs)
• Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): Typically, total RN based care with no techs unless stretched. Secretaries are scheduled 7am-7pm in the PCU and are available for a number of resources.
• Type of equipment: BiPAP, Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Documentation system: Meditech
• Scheduling requirements: FT Staff: 36 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation, PT staff: 48 hours/week with every 3rd weekend rotation, PRN 1 Staff: 3 shifts in a 4-week period with 1 weekend shift requirement, PRN 2 Staff: 6 shifts in a 4-week period with 3 weekend shift requirements. Rotating holiday schedule.
• Floating policy: PRN floats 1 time per week, FT/PT staff floats in a rotation based upon dates, bonus shifts always float first
• Patient Experience requirements: Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds.
