Job summary

Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA, is seeking a Progressive Care RN for a full-time role with 12-hour day shifts (6:45am–7:15pm) and 36 hours weekly. A sign-on bonus up to $15,000 is offered.

The RN will provide pre- and post-operative nursing care, coordinate with the medical team, and ensure high-quality patient experiences. Qualifications include an RN license, ACLS and BCLS (within stated timeframes), and an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Qualifications

• RN must be licensed in the appropriate state.
• ACLS within 1 year of employment start date.
• BCLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition at admission and each shift, noting changes.
• Document care in the patient record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor responses.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative nursing care as part of the Progressive Care Unit team.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

• (RN) Registered Nurse
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
