Job summary

LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered pre-operative and post-operative care.

In this role you will assess patient status, perform procedures, document care, and administer medications while supporting family needs. ACLS/BCLS certifications must be obtained within the stated timeframes, with an associate, bachelor, or RN diploma as the educational base.

Qualifications

  • RN required.
  • ACLS must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
  • BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or RN Diploma required.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
  • Perform procedures or functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document administration of care in the patient record in a timely manner.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:
  • Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
  • Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
  • Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
  • Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
What qualifications you will need:
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma
