Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is seeking an RN to join a Magnet-certified team, delivering direct nursing care, implementing care plans and educating patients. This full-time role supports a 24-bed PCU with rotating day/evening shifts and a focus on high-quality patient education and safety.

Minimum qualifications include ADN/BSN and RN licensure, BLS, ACLS if in CCU, and at least 1 year of acute care experience or military RN experience.

• Current state RN licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ACLS certification if in a Critical Care area (within hire year)

The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Hillcrest Hospital has 24 beds and offers various medical services, including hemodynamic monitoring, continuous respiratory care, pharmacologic interventions, and more. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in facilitating a healing and supportive experience, from initial admission to discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply pertinent medical education as needed.

A caregiver in this position works day/night rotating shifts from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Evaluate, update and revise plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and family with educational materials considering cultural issues and other special concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with approved nursing protocol

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment
• One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range:

• Minimum hourly: $35.50
• Maximum hourly: $55.60
