Job summary

Wilmington Health in Wilmington, NC seeks an experienced RN-Pro (Infusions) for PRN coverage in the Silver Stream infusion clinic. You will provide high-quality nursing care through the nursing process, coordinate infusion services, and support patients across office and hospital settings.

Responsibilities include triage, documentation, patient education, and supervision of LPNs/CMA/RMA, with a focus on safety and collaboration with physicians. A valid NC RN license is required.

Qualifications

• North Carolina RN license required.
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Performs telephone triage as needed.
• Collaborates with business office staff to schedule patient appointments across facilities.
• Utilizes nursing process to assess needs and plan follow-up/interventions.
• Documents assessments and interventions clearly and thoroughly.
• Develops patient education materials and triage protocols with physicians.
• Oversees LPNs and CMA/RMA.
• Performs specialty procedures: Peripheral IV therapy, IV therapeutic phlebotomy, lab draws, access of implanted ports.
• Orders medications and supplies.
• Monitors infusion therapy and potential reactions/side effects.

Purpose:

The RN is responsible for delivering quality patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.

• Performs telephone triage as needed
• Taking complete, accurate messages from patients and relaying them to appropriate physician
• Collaborates and coordinates with business office staff to schedule patient appointments (includes office, outpatient procedures, hospitals, and other medical facilities)
• Utilizes nursing process effectively in assessing patient needs and planning appropriate follow-up/intervention
• Documents assessment and interventions thoroughly and concisely
• Develops patient education materials, triage protocols, and clinical guidelines in collaboration with physicians
• Uses computer system efficiently and accurately
• Oversees LPN's and CMA/RMA
• Performs specialty procedures as trained and as needed:
  • Peripheral IV therapy
  • IV Therapeutic phlebotomy
  • Lab draws as ordered
  • Access of implanted ports
• Performs other duties and projects as assigned

Other Duties:

• Ordering medications and supplies
• Monitoring Infusion therapy
• Ongoing assessment for potential reactions/side effects

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
