Job summary

DHR Health in Edinburg, TX is seeking a Night Shift RN (PRN) to provide direct patient care across unit teams. You will coordinate care plans, supervise nursing staff, and ensure patient safety and rights are maintained in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold TX RN licensure, BLS/ACLS certification, and prefer a BSN. Evening/weekend flexibility is required, with readiness to communicate effectively and adapt to changing patient needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing required.
• Current registered nurse license in TX or Compact State License required.
• BLS & ACLS Certification required.
• PALS & TNCC may be required.
• Computer skills with MS Office preferred.
• Some evening or weekend work required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs physical, emotional, and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients within established time guidelines.
• Initiates and updates plans of care and nursing interventions.
• Provides education for patients and staff and collaborates with other disciplines.
• Administers medications and treatments per medical plan of care.
• Observes, documents and communicates patient responses and progress.
• Ensures compliance with safety, infection control, and quality standards.
• Maintains professional appearance and adheres to hospital dress code.
• Attends staff meetings and maintains continuing education requirements.
• Manages patient care assignments and adjusts as needed in crises or emergencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
