Overview
Registered Nurses (RNs) to join on a PRN (as-needed) basis. This role offers 12-hour shifts (6:00 AM–6:30 PM or 6:00 PM–6:30 AM) with no guaranteed 40 hours per week. We are currently hiring 3 PRN RNs for Day Shift and 3 PRN RNs for Night Shift (6 total).
The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care, administering medications, conducting assessments, and coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure each resident receives individualized, compassionate care.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications and perform treatments in accordance with physician orders and nursing scope of practice.
- Conduct initial nursing assessments for new admissions; assist with MDS assessments, quarterly reviews, and individualized care plans.
- Receive and deliver detailed shift reports to ensure continuity of care.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to address medical, social, and functional needs.
- Maintain accurate clinical and administrative documentation regarding assessments, treatments, and resident progress.
- Provide supervision and guidance to subordinate staff while assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and mobility.
- Participate in in-service training, staff development programs, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Apply knowledge of geriatric nursing practices, pharmacology, and treatment planning within a team nursing approach.
- Observe, assess, and respond appropriately to changes in resident conditions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations regarding professional nursing practices, medication management, and resident care.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong foundation in geriatric/long-term care nursing practices and theory.
- Understanding of the aging process and its impact on physical, psychological, and social health.
- Proficiency in developing and executing individualized treatment and care plans.
- Knowledge of pharmacology, medication administration, and safety standards.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to assess, observe, and respond to resident needs while promoting dignity and quality of life.
- Leadership skills with the ability to supervise and support staff.
- Familiarity with AMS concepts, tools, and continuous process improvement methods.
Qualifications
- Required: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Required: Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Required: Negative TB skin test and Hepatitis B vaccination (or signed declination).
- Required: Ability to pass a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance, 7-year background check (including OIG/Client name clearance), and drug screening.
- Required: COVID-19 vaccination card.
- Preferred: Recent graduates or candidates with less than 1 year of skilled nursing or long-term care experience are encouraged to apply.

- Position Type: PRN (as needed; hours not guaranteed).

- Openings: 3 Day Shift PRNs and 3 Night Shift PRNs (6 total).
