Job summary

Regent Surgical Health is seeking a skilled PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse in Orlando to provide comprehensive perioperative care before and after surgery. You will assess, prepare, monitor, and discharge patients, coordinating with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure safe care.

The role focuses on patient safety, pain management, and clear communication with families, with a Monday–Friday schedule and no weekend calls.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
RN license in appropriate State.
Minimum 3 years of nursing experience.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients’ physical and mental health and prepare for surgery, including airway assessment and IV fluids as needed.
Explain procedures and post-operative expectations to patient and family.
Ensure surgical site prep, verify consent, and follow safety protocols.
Perform venipuncture and blood draws as needed.
Communicate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the care team.
Monitor vital signs and recovery after anesthesia, ensuring patient safety.
Administer pain relief and implement pain management strategies.
Recognize and manage post-operative complications.
Assess readiness for discharge or transfer and provide instructions.
Prepare supplies, equipment, and medications for use.
Maintain up-to-date nursing documentation for the team.
Operate designated nursing equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
