Job summary

Regent Surgical Health seeks a PreOp/PACU RN to deliver comprehensive care before and after surgery, ensuring patient safety and well-being during the perioperative period.

You will assess physical and psychosocial needs, monitor vitals, administer pre-operative meds, perform venipuncture, and coordinate with surgeons and the surgical team to optimize recovery and discharge planning.

This is a full-time role with no calls, no weekends, and no holidays, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• RN license in appropriate State.
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (preferred).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' physical and mental health and prepare for surgery.
• Explain the surgical procedure and post-operative expectations to patients and families.
• Prepare surgical site, verify informed consent, and follow safety protocols.
• Conduct venipuncture and blood draws as needed.
• Communicate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team.
• Monitor patients' vitals and recovery from anesthesia.
• Administer pain medications and manage discomfort.
• Assess readiness for discharge or transfer and give discharge instructions.
• Ensure supplies, equipment, and medications are ready.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation.
• Operate designated equipment.
