Job summary

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego is seeking a skilled RN for the Pre-Op/PACU to support anesthesia prep, intraoperative monitoring, and emergence care. The role emphasizes patient assessment, planning, and collaboration with the care team to ensure safe, efficient recovery.

Required: 1 year acute care RN experience, California RN license, BLS/ACLS, English fluency, and a positive, team-focused attitude. Preferred: BSN, PACU/ICU experience.

Qualifications

• One year of recent RN experience in an acute care setting.
• Must hold California RN license and current BLS/ACLS from American Heart Association.
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• Must demonstrate positive behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Pre-anesthesia preparation and observation and maintenance during the procedure.
• Monitoring and caring for patients as they are coming out of sedation after surgery.
• Assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating progress toward outcomes.
• Collaborate with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

As an RN in the Pre-Op/PACU you will be responsible for

• pre-anesthesia preparation and observation and maintenance during the procedure
• monitoring and caring for patients are they are coming out of sedation after surgery.
• Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes
• Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Qualifications

Required

• California Registered Nurse License
• Current BLS, ACLS from American Heart Association certifications
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
