Our Stepdown Unit at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista is a 35-bed facility focused on high-acuity patients, including those recovering from strokes, cardiac issues, patients on critical drip protocols and peritoneal dialysis treatments and administration. This unit specializes in continuous cardiac monitoring for conditions such as myocardial infarction, chest pain, unstable angina, hypertension, diabetes, and renal failure. Located in the vibrant South Bay, our team is known for its collaborative and supportive environment, where patient care and professional growth are top priorities. We take pride in serving a diverse and complex patient population, while fostering a culture of respect, teamwork, and continuous learning in the heart of this dynamic community.
Provide comprehensive care to Step-Down, Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical patients with a range of conditions, including diabetes, cardiac issues, respiratory illnesses, and post-surgical recovery.
Provide Peritoneal dialysis treatments and administration
Conduct thorough patient evaluations, physical exams, and recorded vital signs with timely and accurate documentation.
Develop personalized nursing care plans and efficiently delegated patient care activities collaborate with physicians to report patient progress and communicate critical or abnormal findings to ensure high-quality patient care.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, mentoring new staff, and communicating effectively with patients and families to ensure compassionate, high-quality care.
This position is eligible for New Hire Incentives of up to $7k
