Scripps Health in La Jolla, CA is seeking a Per Diem RN for our PreOp-PACU unit. Work is 12-hour shifts with start times between 08:30 and 11:00, no mandatory weekends or on-call, and at least four shifts per month.

Per diem status supports flexible scheduling in a Magnet, Level I trauma center setting. You will provide direct patient care across perioperative phases, collaborate with the care team, and use advanced technology to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Active California RN license.
  • BLS/ACLS as required for perioperative care.
  • BSN preferred or enrolled in RN-to-BSN program.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in PreOp/PACU within scope of practice.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe perioperative flow.
  • Monitor patient status and document care using EHR.

Job description

This is a Casual Status also known as Per Diem position as a RN in the PreOp-PACU department in our brand new tower at La Jolla Memorial hospital. It has a varied 12 hour shift with the start time between 0830-1100. There is not call or weekend shifts, however it is available if you are seeking additional shifts. The training schedule is flexible and based on experience. The minimum availability is 4 shifts per month.
