Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a Perioperative Registered Nurse for the Scripps Mercy Hospital-San Diego OR team. You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting across multiple specialties, collaborating with the Care Team to ensure optimal outcomes.

The shift is a 12-hour day schedule with 6:30am start, plus call shifts. Incentives include a $4K incentive and a $3K relocation incentive for eligible new hires, reflecting a supportive, teamwork-oriented workplace.

Qualifications

• One year of recent RN experience in the Operating Room (OR).
• California Registered Nurse (RN) License is required.
• Registered Nursing Degree from an accredited school is required.
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and following instructions in English.
• Ability to demonstrate positive behaviors in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice in the OR.
• Assess, plan and implement care, and evaluate patient progress with the Care Team.

Scripps Mercy Hospital has served central and downtown San Diego since 1890 and is the oldest medical center in the county. The San Diego campus is located near the corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street in Hillcrest.

Scripps Mercy Hospital consists of two campuses in San Diego and Chula Vista.

Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego’s campus includes the O’Toole Breast Care Center, a 24-hour emergency room that is a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient physical rehabilitation, minimally invasive robotic surgery and our childbirth unit (including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit).

This is a benefited, full-time 12 hour day shift position with a starting time of 6:30am - 1900 and call shifts. The location is at Scripps Mercy Hospital-San Diego.

This position includes an Incentive of $4K and a Relocation Incentive of $3K to eligible new hires.

Provides direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

• Work amongst the 10 Operating Room Suites in trauma, ortho, spine, urology, bariatric, plastics, robotics and general.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)


• Must remain in original department/specialty


• Must remain in original Job Title


• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter

Required

• One year of recent RN experience in the Operating Room


• California Registered Nurse (RN) License


• Registered Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing.


• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association provider).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing


• 2 or more years OR experience


• Trauma experience- Level 1


• Previous OR Charge experience


• EPIC system experience


• PeriOp 101 course


• Well rounded experience in all service lines

Position Pay Range: $59.16-$85.68/hour
