Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the System-wide Resource Services float team. This full-time, benefited role involves direct patient care across multiple San Diego hospitals, with a variable 10- or 12-hour shift and an on-call requirement.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care with the care team, floating among Encinitas, La Jolla, Torrey Pines, San Diego and Chula Vista campuses. CA RN license and BLS required; CNOR and BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• 18 months recent RN OR experience in an acute care hospital.
• Current CA RN License.
• Current American Heart Association BLS.
• Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice and care team.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care while monitoring progress.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to five Scripps Hospital campuses and respond to on-call needs as required.

Job description

This is a Full time, benefited OR RN position. The shift is varied which could mean being assigned 10 or 12 hour shifts with either day or night schedule. The shift determined is based on the department needs. Must be able to float to any of the 5 hospitals located in San Diego. Call is required for this role.

Our Scripps System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports the entire Scripps Health system. As a member of the float team, you can fill vital roles on assignments throughout the system to provide critical coverage for employee's leave of absences, sick calls, and peak service demands while gaining experience in a variety of environments.

Join our Scripps SSRS team as a Registered Nurse where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice. This includes the following: assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

The types of opportunities we offer are as follows:

• SYSTEM WIDE RESOURCE and FLOAT TEAM Permanent Scripps employees who support long-term assignments, typically 12 weeks in duration.
• System wide seasonal team Full Time, Limited tenure Scripps employee who supports 13 or 26 weeks.

This role includes shift differentials and an incentive bonus up to $7,000 for qualified, eligible new hires.

The Seasonal position pays a flat pay rate of $68.03. A completion bonus is available at the end of the initial 13 week assignment of $9,000.

* * Previous Scripps employees interested in a seasonal position are required to have left the organization for a frame of one (1) year prior to onboarding as a seasonal employee.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
