Job summary

Scripps Health is seeking a Casual (per diem) RN at Scripps Memorial La Jolla, in the new north tower. Day shift, 8 hours, start between 0630 and 0900 with varying weekly schedule.

Includes call rotations weekday/weekend/holiday, occasional overnight calls, and flexible training shifts. We emphasize development programs and a learning environment, with a Magnet hospital culture and a history of recognized care across cardiovascular, oncology, orthopedics, and more.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year RN experience.
• Active California RN license.
• BLS, Healthcare Provider Certification through American Heart Association.
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate positive behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and develops and implements a plan of care; evaluates patient progress.
• Works with the Care Team under supervision to ensure optimal patient care.

Description

This is a Casual status also known as Per Diem RN position located at Scripps Memorial La Jolla in the brand new north tower. The shift is a 8 hour day shift and the start time would fall between 0630-0900 and vary throughout the week. There is call rotation weekday/weekend/holiday call, and overnight call. In a 4 week schedule period, casual employees are required to work once per week with 2 call shifts per schedule period. Additional call is available if you want more shifts. For the training period 2-3 shifts per week would be ideal, but we are flexible with availability.

Responsibilities include: provides direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Preferred Qualifications

• BA in Nursing
• Previous RN Endoscopy experience is strongly preferred
• Pre-OP/Post Op, IR/Cath/OR/moderate sedation experience is preferred
