Job summary

South Denver Surgery Center is hiring a FT Preop/PACU RN to join our team. The position offers M-F daytime hours with no weekends, nights, calls, or holidays. Under supervision, the PACU nurse ensures safe, continuous care and supports physicians in procedure rooms as needed.

The role emphasizes postoperative assessment and planning, patient safety, and ongoing evaluation from surgery through recovery and discharge planning. Perioperative knowledge and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current CO Registered Nurse License.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS.
• ASC experience a plus.
• Experience in PACU/ ICU required.
• Good communication and human relations skills.
• Ability to organize and follow through on own initiative.
• Thorough knowledge of perioperative process including anesthesia implications.

Responsibilities

• Implement physician orders and provide continuity and quality nursing care.
• Continuously evaluate patient condition to ensure safety, comfort and privacy.
• Assist physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks and conscious sedation as needed.
• Provide comprehensive care to patients emerging from anesthesia or sedation.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for discharge preparation.

Preop/PACU Registered Nurse at South Denver Surgery Center:

Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients'' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all time. At times, assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation and utilizing sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation. Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• CurrentCO Registered Nurse License

Hourly Range: $38- $57(based on experience)
