Job summary

Providence Holy Cross Surgery Center at Mission Hills is seeking a Registered Nurse for PreOp and PostOp duties in a full-time role. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule with no on-call, nights, weekends, or holiday shifts.

The RN will provide perioperative nursing care using established plans of care and policies, ensuring safe and family-centered care across all patient populations. Reports to the Peri-Operative Services Manager.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current CA Nursing License.
  • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS accredited by AHA.
  • 2+ years experience in Pre-Op / PACU. Previous ambulatory surgical setting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient.
  • Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation.
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

  • Provide perioperative nursing care using the nursing process and plan of care.
  • Deliver safe, effective, and patient-family centered care in perioperative services.
  • Support the mission, vision, and values of Providence Holy Cross Surgery Center.
  • Report to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services.

Providence Holy Cross Surgery Center at Mission Hills is a fast-paced, multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse PreOp PostOP provides quality patient care using the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and organizational policies. The RN PreOp PostOP provides safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the perioperative services for all patient populations. The RN PreOp PostOP supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The RN PreOp PostOP reports to the Manager of Peri-Operative Services.

Monday-Friday work schedule

NO call required

NO Nights, NO Weekends, NO Holiday work hours

Starting hourly Wage Range: $45.00 - $70.00, depending on experience

Required Skills:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current CA Nursing License
  • Current BLS, ACLS and PALS accredited by AHA
  • 2+ years experience in Pre-Op / PACU. Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
  • Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
  • Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
  • Knowledge base to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, physicians and fellow employees. (TEAMWORK)
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrate accountability, creativity, innovation and be receptive to change
  • Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
