Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a PreOp Registered Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center in Dallas. You will plan, execute, and evaluate preoperative nursing care, collaborating with the team to support patient outcomes and the future of nursing.

You will prepare care areas, verify equipment, perform assessments, review charts, administer preoperative meds, and monitor patients until they enter the OR. A valid RN license and relevant certifications ensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or diploma in nursing required
• 1+ year nursing experience in a clinical setting
• Active RN license required by state of employment
• BCLS certification required at employment (online not acceptable)
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient care areas before procedures.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are ready for procedures.
• Conduct complete physical and history assessments.
• Review charts for completeness prior to surgery.
• Administer preoperative medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Monitor patients until transfer to the OR.

Skills

PACU/ICU/Surgery experience

Active RN license

BCLS certification

ACLS within 30 days

PALS if required

Job Summary and Qualifications

Join our team as a PreOp Registered Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively for your patients. What you will do in this role:

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case
• Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure
• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests
• Review your patients’ charts for completeness prior to surgery
• Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed
• Monitor your patients until transferred to the OR

Qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery
• Active RN license as required by state of employment
• BCLS Certification upon employment. *online certification not acceptable
• ACLS required within 30-days of hire
• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
