Job summary

HCA Healthcare, Inc. is seeking an experienced RN for a Perioperative Nurse role at Brandon Surgery Center in Brandon, FL.

The RN will plan, execute, and evaluate preoperative and postoperative nursing care through discharge, ensuring patient safety and quality care. The position requires an Associate Degree in Nursing or RN diploma, 1+ year of clinical nursing experience (PACU/ICU/Surgery preferred), active RN licensure, and BCLS; ACLS within 30 days, and PALS if required by facility within 30

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS Certification upon employment (online certification not acceptable).
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire; PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and evaluate nursing care preoperatively and postoperatively until discharge.
• Prepare care areas and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for procedures.
• Conduct complete physical and psychological assessment and review history and tests.
• Administer pre-operative medications and IV therapy as prescribed.
• Maintain IV catheters and dressings and report abnormalities.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Join our team as a Perioperative Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care rendered preoperatively and postoperatively until your patients are discharged. What you will do in this role:

Prepare your patients’ care area adequately before case

Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies for your patients’ procedure

Conduct complete physical, and psychological assessment and evaluation of your patients’ history and diagnostic tests

Administer pre-operative medications and intravenous therapy as prescribed

You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks

Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon

Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications you will need:

Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required

1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in PACU, ICU or Surgery

Active RN license as required by state of employment

ACLS required within 30-days of hire

PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
