Job summary

Straith Hospital in Southfield, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for Surgical Services / Pre-Op & Post-Op Care. The position is full time with starting pay at $36.00 per hour. You will educate patients and families on prevention and health habits, and follow health and safety guidelines to promote patient well-being.

The ideal candidate will be responsible, well-trained, compassionate, and able to work with little supervision, ensuring high-quality nursing care is delivered.

Qualifications

  • Valid Michigan RN license.
  • Current and valid BLS certification.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient condition and assess needs to provide care and advice.
  • Observe and interpret symptoms and communicate findings to physicians.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans.
  • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure, injections) and fill in charts.
  • Administer medications and provide treatments per physician orders.
  • Maintain hygiene and safety in the facility (decontaminate equipment, sanitize surfaces).
  • Provide immediate medical care in emergencies.
  • Foster a compassionate environment for patients and families.
  • Expand knowledge by attending workshops and conferences.

Job Overview

Straith Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to care for our patients and facilitate their recovery. You will be responsible for educating them and their families on prevention and healthy habits. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. You will be compassionate and cool-tempered. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to promote patient’s well-being by providing high quality nursing care.

Duties
  • Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
  • Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
  • Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and fill in patients’ charts
  • Adjust and administer patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders
  • Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.)
  • Provide instant medical care in emergencies
  • Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
  • Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences etc.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid Michigan RN License
  • Current and valid BLS certification
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.

Preferred:

  • Pre/Post Operative Nursing Experience
