Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-Admission and Pre-Surgery Testing with supervision by physicians and nursing leadership. The role involves comprehensive nursing care, assessments, and collaborative planning to meet patient needs across perioperative services.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, English proficiency, and a Texas RN license with BLS certification. Preferred BSN and prior Pre-Surgery Testing experience are noted.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an approved/accredited nursing program.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• 1 year of RN experience required.
• Texas nursing license (NLC) and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments across age groups.
• Develop and implement an appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the health care team.
• Prioritize nursing interventions based on assessment findings and changes in condition.
• Ensure timely documentation and communication with patients and families.
• Adhere to hospital policies and evidence-based nursing practice.
