Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• At least 5 years RN experience, 3 in perioperative or adult acute care.
• RN license currently active in Texas.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong nursing judgment, decision-making and prioritization.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care within the RN scope per hospital policies.
• Assesses psychosocial, educational, and physical needs across age groups.
• Responds quickly to emergencies.
• Develops and prioritizes plans of care to meet goals.
• Educates patients and families; documents education.
• Completes pre-operative testing, physician evaluation, and teaching for Pre-Admission patients.
• Follows documentation policies.
• Utilizes MediTech to register patients, enter orders and allergies.
• Notifies the director of patients with complex conditions.
