Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse Practice Coordinator in Williamsburg, VA. The role leads clinical operations, coordinates staff scheduling, and ensures quality patient care in an ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities include developing clinical guidelines, patient education, and collaborating with physicians, NPs, PAs, and RNs to deliver coordinated care. Active VA or Compact RN license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required.
• Active RN license (VA or Compact) is required or strongly preferred.
• Nursing experience: 3 years required.
• Supervisory experience: 1 year required.
• Ambulatory Care experience preferred.

• Serve as clinical leader for ambulatory care patients/families under the Practice Manager.
• Schedule and/or assign clinic staff to meet patient care needs.
• Provide patient care and develop/implement clinical guidelines/protocols.
• Support patient decision-making, education, and coordination of services.
• Coordinate with Physicians/NP/PA/RN to provide care and delegate tasks to LPNs and MAs.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00a-5p. NO NIGHTS, HOLIDAYS, or WEEKENDS!

Overview

The Registered Nurse Practice Coordinator functions as a clinical leader, under the direction of the Practice Manager, for the provision of patient care services for populations of ambulatory care patients/families. Responsible for the scheduling and/or assigning clinic staff to meet patient care and clinic needs, performing patient care, developing/implementing clinical practice guidelines/protocols, and for providing support with patient decision-making, education, and coordination of services to assure quality outcomes. Coordinates and collaborates with Physicians and/or Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA)/Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive care, and provides delegation and supervision of tasks (procedures, treatments) to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) and Medical Assistants (MA).

Education

• Bachelor's Level Degree-Nursing

Certification/Licensure

• Active RN license (VA or Compact)
• Specialty certification in professional nursing practice preferred.

Experience

• Nursing experience 3 years required
• Previous supervisory experience 1 year required
• Ambulatory Care experience preferred
