Job summary

Allegheny Health Network's West Penn Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse for the Postpartum/Newborn Nursery. The role supports 33 couplet rooms and a Level I Nursery, providing leadership and coordinated care across shifts.

As a licensed nurse, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, collaborating with physicians and the care team to ensure safety and quality in a Magnet-recognized facility.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure OR Current multi-state licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in a professional practice setting.
• Acts as a team player to support staff success through role modeling and mentoring.
• Delegates tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities including charge role responsibilities.
• Maintains a safe environment and evaluates patient condition to guide care decisions.
• Delivers written and verbal feedback to colleagues on clinical practice and performance.
• Participates in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate care and health services.
• Promotes patient safety initiatives and contributes to unit quality improvements.
• Ensures appropriate order sets and compliance with hospital policies.
