Job summary

Allegheny Health Network, part of Highmark Health, is hiring an Assistant Nurse Manager to lead a postpartum/newborn unit and support West Penn Hospital operations. The role blends hands-on patient care with clinical leadership to drive quality, safety, and teamwork across the department.

Ideal candidates will have strong nursing leadership experience, a Bachelor’s in Nursing, and PA RN licensure (or multi-state eNLC).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required within 3 years of hire.
• Experience in clinical leadership and staff development.
• Current PA RN licensure OR multi-state license via eNLC.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of a patient care department under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
• Provide clinical and administrative leadership, guidance, and coaching to staff.
• Promote quality initiatives, patient safety goals, and staff engagement.
• Support unit operations and budget management in collaboration with leadership.
