Job summary

Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to transition into a scrub role in the MAIN OR.

The RN will collaborate with a skilled surgical team across Neuro/ENT, General, and Orthopedics in a 22-operating-room environment. Candidates must hold a current Wisconsin RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with prior perioperative nursing or surgical technology experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Wisconsin RN license.
• BLS certification required.
• Previous perioperative nursing or surgical technology experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and patients safely.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative Preparation: maintain a clean, safe surgical area and assist with gowning, gloving, draping, and sterile field setup.
• Intraoperative Support: anticipate surgeon needs, pass instruments, hold retractors, and maintain aseptic technique.
• Equipment & Environment Management: set up and operate surgical equipment and ensure sterility of instruments and carts.
• Patient Care & Transport: position and transport patients with proper lifting and handling.
• Collaboration & Communication: coordinate with surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and optimal outcomes.
