Job summary

MLK Community Hospital in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Perioperative Clinical Educator RN to lead education programs for perioperative staff, aligning with the hospital's mission and quality goals.

CNOR certification within 12 months, minimum two years perioperative nursing with at least one year in education in an acute care setting; bilingual Spanish preferred; CPI and BCLS certifications; EMR experience.

Qualifications

• CNOR certification to be completed within 12 months
• Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience in Perioperative Services and at least one (1) year educator experience in an acute care setting
• Certification in Staff Development preferred
• Experience with EMR implementation preferred
• Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish)

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing Education Department goals aligned with MLKCH mission and strategic plan
• Maintain communication with the Director and Sr. Dir. of Education on program status and proposals
• Participate in Surgical Quality Committee and support PI initiatives
• Conduct needs assessment and assist with annual program planning
• Plan and implement unit-specific orientation for new staff in Perioperative Services
• Develop/update policies, procedures, and unit-based competencies
• Support mock drills and collaboration with Education on hospital-wide orientation
• Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to annual education programs
