Job summary

Nursa is recruiting registered nurses for per diem shifts in Denver, Colorado. The role offers flexible scheduling across hospitals, LTC/ALF facilities, SNFs, and outpatient centers, with opportunities to earn on a per-shift basis.

RNs will provide comprehensive patient care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and adhere to HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocols while working 12-hour shifts in diverse settings.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license.
• BLS and/or CPR certification.
• Recent nursing experience preferred (2–3 years for high-acuity settings).
• Knowledge of nursing procedures and protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts with prolonged standing and safe patient handling.

Responsibilities

• Collect information and assess a patient's condition by taking vital signs and medical history, performing physical examinations and observations, and analyzing laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Monitor, record, and report patient responses and any changes in condition using EMR/EHR systems.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop, implement, and coordinate patient care plans.
• Supervise licensed practical/vocational nurses, nurse assistants, and other support staff as needed.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and other treatments as prescribed.
• Perform clinical procedures including wound care, specimen collection, and emergency response protocols.
• Prepare shift handoff reports using SBAR or facility-specific tools to ensure continuity of care.
• Advocate for the best interests of the patient and serve as a communicator between the patient and the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and family members about health promotion, disease prevention, treatment procedures, and self-care management, and offer emotional support.
• Safeguard PHI per HIPAA and maintain infection control standards using proper PPE.
