The University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pediatric ICU RN to care for newborns to young adults with a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 12-hour day shift, 0.75 FTE, every third weekend. The unit collaborates with Pediatric CVICU on the same floor.

Responsibilities include medication management, infusion therapies, and caring for patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, with monitoring via arterial lines and cardiac/hemodynamic devices.

Qualifications

• MN RN licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatrics ICU RN experience.

• Caring for critically ill, trauma, transplant patients and those requiring observation and monitoring.

Job Overview

Are you looking to make an impact on the physical, emotional and cultural needs of pediatric patients and their families? Join our team as a Pediatric ICU RN at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital!

Located on the west bank of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, we deliver a broad range of pediatric programs from surgery, imaging and neonatal and pediatric intensive care to cardiac and oncology (cancer care) services and blood and marrow and organ transplantation.

The Pediatric ICU has 12 beds and works closely with Pediatric CVICU on same floor. Our pediatric patients range from newborns to young adults. The unit has medical and surgical patients that include transplant (solid organ, blood and marrow, auto-islet, kidney, liver), neurology, neurosurgery, pulmonary, ENT, hematology/oncology, orthopedic and trauma. Our care team includes RNs and Nursing Station Technicians, with a nurse to patient ratio of 1:1 or 1:2.

This is a 0.75 FTE position (60 hours every two weeks), day shift,12 hour shifts and every third weekend.

Required

• MN RN licensure
• BLS
• 2 years of Pediatrics ICU RN experience
