Job description

Overview
  • $5,000 sign‑on bonus

The Ambulatory Nurse utilizes a systematic approach to nursing by incorporating assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in the practice of nursing. Provides health‑care to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Illinois Board of Nursing.

Qualifications
  • Certified as a Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Education: College Diploma in Nursing
  • Work Experience: None
Responsibilities
  • Provides and facilitates competent health care of patients and families in area of practice.
  • Ensures adherence to established standards of care and scope of practice.
  • Ensures documentation of care is complete and provides health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
  • Acts as preceptor and supports the development of other staff and healthcare students.
  • Provides leadership for initiatives designed to improve the quality of care or clinical outcomes.
  • Assists the Nursing Supervisor/Coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders.
  • Assists with coordination of care for patients age 0‑21 with referrals to outside specialty providers.
  • Performs telephone triage of both acute and chronic needs for patients age 0‑21.
  • Assists with in‑office procedures such as circumcision.
  • Provides in‑office education for parents of patients with newly diagnosed diabetes and food allergies.
  • Administers immunizations and medications to patients age 0‑21.
  • Obtains prior authorization and works with specialty pharmacies to obtain Synagis for pediatric patients.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $30.39 per hour – $52.27 per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
