Job summary

UNC Health Wayne is currently seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) telemetry. The RN will lead and coordinate care using the nursing process to deliver holistic patient care while supporting the team during night shifts.

The PCU serves adults with cardiac and medical/surgical conditions, requiring continuous monitoring and collaborative care with providers. This role emphasizes safety, education, and compassionate patient interaction.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current NC RN licensure.
• Competent in BLS and/or other specialized life support certifications as required by department.
• At least 1 year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to plan, provide, supervise and document professional nursing care delivered to patients in accordance with provider orders, hospital and nursing standards, established policies and procedures.
• Individualizes the plan of care using professional nursing judgment based on the patient's baseline needs and response to care.
• Demonstrates competence in care of patients with complex problems and prioritizes care accordingly.
• Collaborates and communicates effectively with providers, interdisciplinary teammates, patients and their families.
• Promotes a safe, clean environment and adheres to regulatory guidelines.
