Job summary

HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN PCU) to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers. You will advocate for patients and support an unparalleled patient experience, pre- and post-operatively.

You will assess and document patient status, perform provider-ordered procedures, administer medications, and maintain up-to-date knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license/compact license with active Florida requirement within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Acute care experience strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Good communication, critical thinking, and PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift.
• Perform procedures or functions as ordered by the provider.
• Document care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
