Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an RN for PCU to provide care for cardiac and telemetry patients during a 13-week assignment. The role requires 2 years of PCU/telemetry experience, valid RN licensure, and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.

Nights, 12-hour shifts, and a fast-paced hospital setting are involved. The nurse will read telemetry strips, titrate and monitor drips, and collaborate with a charge nurse and the team to ensure safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of RN experience in PCU/Telemetry.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Must hold and maintain valid nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Care for cardiac/telemetry patients in PCU with acuity appropriate to unit.
• Read telemetry strips and recognize patterns requiring intervention.
• Titrate medications and manage titratable/dosed drips as per protocol.
• Collaborate with charge nurse and healthcare team for patient care.
• Adapt to 12-hour night shifts and unit-specific orientation.

Must-Have:

Must have PCU/Stepdown/Telemetry experience.Must have one successfully completed assignment.

Description:Start dates are not flexible.Nurse patient ratios: 1:4 during the day, 1:5 at night.Must have experience with patients with CHF, NSTEMI, MI, heart block, and other cardiac conditions.Experience with TAVR and CABG is preferred.Travelers must have experience with titratable and/or set rate drips such as amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, nitroglycerin, and insulin.Charge nurse is free of assignment, but may take a couple of patients on rare occasions.Patient care assistants are present on the unit.Nurses are required to troubleshoot respiratory equipment, such as BiPap and high flow.Nurses need to read telemetry strips as there is a dedicated monitor tech.Scheduling is managed to balance unit needs, and requests are considered.Weekend requirement is four weekend days per month.Holiday requirement is three out of five holidays.Floating to ICU and medical-surgical floors is required.Scrubs are navy blue.Includes three shifts of unit-specific orientation.Cancellation policy allows for cancellation of guaranteed hours for the assignment.Charting system used is EPIC.
