Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit in Mission Hills, California. This 13-week contract offers a Day Shift (07:00–19:00) with 3x12-hour shifts and weekend coverage on a rotating basis.

The RN will work in a PCU within an acute care hospital, utilizing Epic for charting and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Requirements include a minimum of 1 year ICU experience, telemetry familiarity, and an active RN license with Compact status; ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Schedule/Shift

Self-scheduling with a Day Shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:00. Weekend coverage required - every other weekend. Commitment to work 3 out of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day) is necessary.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work in a PCU unit within an acute care hospital environment, focusing on providing exceptional patient care. The facility supports a variety of patient diagnoses, including sepsis, myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, COVID-19, congestive heart failure (CHF), and post-operative recovery solutions such as open-heart surgery and trauma management. The RN will utilize Epic for charting and work as part of an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and monitor vital signs for patients in the PCU unit.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient care effectively.
• Perform assessments, interpret diagnostic tests, and respond to patients’ needs promptly.
• Educate patients and their families about care plans and treatment procedures.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and safety regulations at all times.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in an ICU or equivalent setting.
• Experience with telemetry and managing patients requiring complex nursing interventions.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active and valid RN license (Compact license is required).
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• LA City Fire Card is required.
