Job summary

Cynet Health is seeking a Travel RN for the Progressive Care Unit in Englewood, Colorado. This 13-week assignment requires a strong PCU background, current RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications. Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, and telemetry-equipped unit with a 1:4 to 1:5 patient ratio.

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with 1–2 years in acute care PCU, chest tube management experience, and proficiency with post-cath care and cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

• Care for cardiovascular and post-procedure patients in a 30-bed PCU.
• Manage chest tube care, 12-lead EKGs, and telemetry monitoring.
• Administer drips (heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone).
• Collaborate with RNs and PCTs to maintain patient ratios and safety.

Description:This position is for a Travel RN in the Progressive Care Unit.The unit has 30 beds and 65 staff members including RNs and Patient Care Technicians.During the day shift, there is 1 Charge RN, 5-8 RNs, and 2-4 PCTs.During the night shift, there is 1 Charge RN, 5-8 nurses, and 2-3 PCTs.Patient ratios are typically 1:4 and can extend to 1:5 in certain situations.The unit is equipped with telemetry, transport monitors, suction devices, feeding pumps, tracheostomy care equipment, BiPAP and CPAP systems, heated high flow devices, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacing wires, IV pumps, and SCD pumps.The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.

Successful candidates will have experience with chest tube management, 12 lead EKGs, and O2 management.Familiarity with drips such as heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine is preferred.

Typical procedures performed on the unit include post-cath care for heart catheterizations, ablation procedures, and pacemaker implantations.Care also encompasses pre- and post-operative management of cardiac surgery patients, including CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, and aortic dissection repairs.The unit is fast-paced and serves as a cardiac center of excellence.
