Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Part-time RN Patient Placement Coordinator in Louisville to oversee bed requests and patient throughput. You will collaborate with physicians, transportation, nursing staff and ancillary teams to ensure efficient placement and communication.

The role requires proficiency in Cerner and TeleTracking, strong customer service, and the ability to manage multiple patients from different areas while maintaining high accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two (2) years of inpatient hospital experience (required).
• Five (5) years of inpatient hospital experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, processes, and tracks all bed requests.
• Efficiently assigns bed placements for inpatients.
• Coordinate with Transfer Center RNs for accurate bed requests and TeleTracking updates.
• Understand Hospital Capabilities & Unit Scopes of Service within each facility.
• Participate in inpatient facility capacity management huddles.
• Identify throughput barriers and escalate to the appropriate team.
• Maintain strong relationships with facility leadership and Transfer Center RNs for efficiency and patient experience.
