Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Greater Manchester Region seeks a registered nurse to provide direct and indirect patient-centered care using the nursing process, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team and maintaining a safe, therapeutic milieu. This role emphasizes age-appropriate care, rapid response to changes, and professional growth within a leading healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and have a current Registered Nurse license with the state of Connecticut.
• Must be trained in de-escalation techniques, and receive certification within the orientation period of hire.
• Must receive RQI certification within three (3) months of hire and maintain clinical competency during employment within this role.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessments and reassessments of the patient’s condition and care needs including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
• Assess and reassess pain. Educates patient and family regarding pain management; documentation reflects the assessment and intervention.
• Develops and revises individualized treatment plans and evaluates daily for effectiveness; involves patient and family in goal setting.
• Follows the seven medication rights and demonstrates knowledge of medications, including psychotropic drugs and age-appropriate administration.
• Documents the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner using appropriate tools.
• Demonstrates flexibility, organization and crisis management in stressful situations; utilizes critical thinking and sound judgment.
• Collaborates with the treatment team to meet patient needs and provide patient education.
• Provides psychotherapeutic treatment as evidenced by documentation and nurse-led educational groups.
