Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a compassionate registered nurse for the Greater Manchester Region. The role focuses on high-quality, patient-centered care within a structured psychiatric intervention setting.

Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, pain management, individualized treatment planning, and collaborative care with interdisciplinary teams. The position requires PMT training and strong English communication skills within a busy hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and have a current Registered Nurse license with the state of Connecticut.
• Must have certification in CPR upon hire and maintain clinical competency.
• Must be trained in PMT and de-escalation techniques and receive certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessments and reassessments of the patient's condition and care needs.
• Assess and reassess pain; educate patient and family; document effectiveness.
• Develops and revises individualized treatment plans and involve patient/family.
• Follows the five medication rights and administers psychotropic meds appropriately.
• Ensures safe, therapeutic environment and positive patient outcomes.
• Documents the nursing process and responses in a timely manner.
• Remains flexible and organized under stress; uses critical thinking and delegation.
• Implements teaching plans based on learning needs; involve family.
• Maintains autonomy and contributes as a professional role model.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment; seeks feedback from patients and colleagues.
• Demonstrates clinical empathy and protects patient privacy in psychiatric care.
• Utilizes PMT techniques to manage violent or potentially violent situations.
• Participates in Early Response and PMT refresher trainings.
• Sets professional boundaries with patients and maintains decorum.
• Collaborates with the treatment team to meet patient needs.
• Delivers psychotherapeutic care and supports nurse-led educational groups.
