Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in state(s) where providing services.
• 1 year of clinical nursing experience (typical).
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds a culture of safety.
• Continuously evaluates patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action as needed.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per clinical protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution.
• Pursues professional development and maintains certifications.
• Adheres to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making.
• Appropriate delegation to other RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed personnel.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities within the service area.
• Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served across the life span.
