Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where care is provided.
• BLS certification; additional certifications may be required by specialty.
• Typically requires 2 years of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance and quality initiatives to improve care.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans and collaborates with the care team.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety across the unit.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies according to protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback and conflict resolution.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ethics and contributes to unbiased patient care.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• May float to other units to meet patient care needs.
• Able to address age-specific patient needs with appropriate care planning.
